Astros vs. Orioles, June 6, 2009
|
Today's game was loaded with excitement. Two kids thrown out at the plate with the first one a perfectly executed relay. Contributions at the plate from everyone. Excellent pitching from fill-in Pat who got the much-desired complete game. A few baserunning mistakes that fortunately did not cost us the game were the only low points of a well-played game.
If we can play like this going into the playoffs we're going to be tough to beat.
Special thanks to Timmy who was under the weather but took one for the team and played the whole game as we only had nine players and Matt Rocha who had a late night but managed to get to the game on time and play the whole game.
Teamwork is what wins games and you guys really played like a team today. ...

Team Rules
|
1. Players are expected to notify the coach
anytime he will be late or unable to be
at a practice or game.
2. All players are expected to be ready to
go at the start of practice or 30 minutes
before the game with all equipment on and
checked.
3. Complete uniforms must be worn with cap
on frontward and shirt tucked in.
Baseball pants, sliding shorts, and cups
worn for all practices and games.
4. All players should jog on and off the
field, not walk.
5. Players must help with the equipment
before and after the game and clean
up the bench of all bottles and wrappers.
Any field or facility shall never be
damaged intensionally by any player.
6. Players are expected to treat all coaches, parents,
and trainers with politeness and respect.
7. No cursing or inappropriate language is permitted.
8. No arguing or exaggerated gestures showing
displeasure with the umpire will be allowed.
9. No taunting, ridiculing, verbal sparring,
or teasing the other team will be tolerated.
10. Players must remain on the bench between
innings and during the game when not in
the game. No fooling around on the bench.
11. All team members must shake hands with
the other team after the game.
12. Players must remain after the game for a
10 minute review of the game. ...

We'll see everybody Saturday at 11:30 for our first game (we hope). If anyone will have trouble making the game please send me an email or give me a call.
